Niphean Pro All-Round 11’ 6” Inflatable SUP Review

Niphean Pro All-Around Action 1

With its accessible price point and strong Amazon presence, Niphean inflatable SUPs are often grouped with budget-friendly brands, valued more for convenience than performance. The Pro series aims to shift that perception. Building on the easygoing nature of its Classic line, the Niphean Pro All-Round 11’ 6” introduces upgraded construction, more thoughtful design, and a clear push toward better on-water capability.

Going Pro

Much of the Pro upgrade comes down to construction and materials, subtle on paper but noticeable on the water. The result is a board that’s tougher, lighter, and more performance-focused, nudging Niphean beyond the purely recreational space it’s best known for.

Construction is most newsworthy. Instead of glued seams, common on recreational boards, Niphean’s Pro models use heat-welded rails, fusing layers together with heat and pressure to create a permanent molecular bond. The payoff is threefold: increased strength, a slight reduction in weight (no excess adhesive), and far better resistance to heat. That last point matters, especially for boards left baking in the sun where glued seams can weaken over time.

Rigidity gets a boost as well. Carbon fiber reinforcement along the spine – visible as a dark strip running the length of the hull – adds stiffness and reduces flex underfoot, translating to a more efficient, responsive ride.

Beyond structure, Pro models layer in thoughtful refinements. A protective GlossShield coating helps preserve graphics and fend off scuffs and abrasion. Up top, the cargo system shifts toward a more touring-friendly layout, with larger front bungees for quick-access gear and a rear zone for bulkier items. The bungees themselves are wider, adjustable bands that cinch down more securely, and complemented by additional D-rings for expanded tie-down options.

Some thoughtful touches are easy to overlook but deserve attention. Neoprene-wrapped grab handles at the nose and tail offer a more comfortable carry, while the upgraded leash features padded similar padding and dual swivels to prevent tangling. Small details, but together they reinforce the sense that this is a more considered – and more premium – package

Accessory Upgrade

Pro models also prove more versatile. In addition to an inflatable seat and additional paddle blade that can turn the board into a hybrid kayak, Niphean expands the Pro All-Round’s versatility with additional accessory mounts. There’s an integrated action camera mount at the bow, a central threaded attachment point for the included cupholder or additional camera, and in a nod to anglers, dual mounts designed to accept rod holders. They’re wisely placed in front of the EVA traction pad to be readily at hand.

Niphean included a digital pressure gauge, which is designed to give paddlers some extra peace of mind on the water. It allows you to monitor pressure and return to safety if anything unexpected happens. It’s also useful when initially inflating the board, as dial gauges on manual pumps can be inconsistent. The digital gauge proved spot on, allowing you to reliably hit the board’s ideal pressure for optimal performance, without risking under-or-over inflation.

The included three-piece paddle also gets a welcome upgrade. It pairs durable nylon blades with a carbon-reinforced shaft, striking a smart balance between weight, strength, and cost. It’s not a full-carbon setup, but it’s a noticeable step up from aluminum options and well-matched to the board’s performance focus.

Familiar extras include backpack (with welcome waist strap), detachable footrest for kayaking, phone dry bag, repair kit and manual pump.

Stable, Fast…But A Bit Of Flex

Niphean Pro All-Around Action 2

At 11’6” long and 33” wide, the Niphean Pro All-Around is a substantial platform, and its broad shoulders and square tail deliver the confidence-inspiring stability those dimensions suggest. Larger riders appreciated the added support, while newer paddlers benefited from the generous, forgiving base.

Construction and carbon-fiber reinforcement do contribute to that stability, though don’t eliminate flex entirely. In choppier conditions, we still noted some give underfoot. More aggressive paddling also could produce a slightly looser feel. However, that is a tradeoff you are going to have with any inflatable. The overall ride feels composed and predictable, which is what matters most. Once in rhythm, we were also able to generate a fair amount of speed.

The StabilTrac fin system remains a bit of a mixed bag. While it can add a touch of lateral stability, it also introduces a subtle pivot point beneath the paddler. In practice, that can shorten your stroke cadence on one side before needing to switch to stay on course. We found the board performed best with a more traditional single-fin setup, which improved glide and directional efficiency. An additional 3” “decorative” fin is also included. The name’s appropriate, as we can’t see using it unless navigating the skinniest of waters.

As to maneuverability, minor course corrections are enacted with side changes or subtle canoe-style tweaks, while wide sweep turns handle bigger directional shifts. Step back on the tail, and the board’s inherent stability – and that squared-off shape – make pivot turns easily within reach for more experienced paddlers.

The overall stability also broadens the Pro’s appeal beyond conventional paddling. Whether it’s fishing, yoga, or just loading up with an extra passenger, the Pro remains composed and confidence-inspiring SUP. We’d also have no hesitation bringing along a child, pet, or additional gear for a casual outing.

Final Thoughts

Niphean Pro All-Around Kayak Mode

The Niphean Pro All-Round doesn’t abandon what makes inflatable SUPs appealing but it does sharpen the experience. It’s still easy to use, easy to transport, and broadly accessible, but now backed by better materials, smarter design, and a noticeably more capable ride. At 22 pounds, it also steps down in weight class, a stat that’s appreciated on the water but also during carries to and from.

For paddlers looking to step beyond the basics without giving up convenience, the Pro All-Around feels like a natural next move.

And a clear sign that Niphean is aiming higher than entry-level expectations.
