Three Creeks Metro Park (Alum Creek / Big Walnut Creek)

Trip Overview

Entered Alum Creek at Madison Mills Area (3260 Williams Rd, Columbus, OH 43207) and ended at Three Creeks Park Canoe Access (4999 Old Rathmell Ct, Obetz, OH 43207). One tree was down that blocked the majority of Big Walnut Creek about half mile after the three creek confluence. We were able to fit the kayak through a small clearing on the right bank and continue the trip. Near the end, the river splits into two paths. We took the left path and when the river came back together, it was a bit challenging to get to the canoe access exit due to the fast rapids. Trip took about 1.5 hours with a 5 minute break at the downed tree
