An easy place to paddle. Calm enclosed water with lots of facilities nearby.
There's a car park beside the staithe with 2 hours free parking, handy for a short trip.
It's worth noting that it can be a bit tight launching at the car park if the moorings are full, but it's a nice easy place to pass a few hours. Boat traffic is limited to 3 or 4 mph for most of the river and the boaters I encountered were conscious of their wake and allowed plenty of space.
