Many of us live life on a fast speed. Ohatchee Creek is the perfect s-l-o-w down! Peaceful, quiet, beautiful...
We spent about 3 1/2 hours taking our time, stopping often for pictures, taking a picnic lunch break, and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. There are very few signs of civilization - just lots of lovely sights and sounds.
We put in at Hart's Ferry Bait and Tackle, where there are a few picnic tables along the Coosa River, and a boat launch. Just downstream from the launch, Ohatchee Creek joins the Coosa, meandering westward.

Directions:
From the junction of highway 144 and 77 (in Ohatchee, AL) drive south on 77 a short distance. Hart's Ferry Bait and Tackle will be on your right, along the Coosa River.
