Helena Run

Trip Overview

The Leesburg Public fishing pier and boat ramp is the start of the Helena Run. You will paddle along shore for about a mile and a half before entering the run itself. On windy days this end of Harris Lake can pick up some bigger waves. Once in the run there is no current to speak of, and very little boat traffic. At least on week days. Just before you go under Hwy 27 there is a private boat ramp, there is no other structure there so it seems an ok spot to get out and stretch a bit.

Safety Notes

check for small craft advisories on Lake Harris as you cross a section of the lake.
