Trip Overview
This is a combination of our Upper Missinaibi AND Thunderhouse Falls Fly Out trips. Spend 2 weeks running over 30 sets of rapids and camping every night beside the roar of cascading falls and rapids on this Canadian Herritage River.
This guided trip catches the river at the ghost town of Peterbell (accessible only by train), and over 100 miles of river, we drop 300 feet, we then continue on for the first 50 miles of the Lower Missinaibi past the last road at Mattice. You'll slowly make your way to Thunderhouse Falls. The campsite at Thunderhouse is spectacular, perched 150 feet above the cannon, here, time is spent marveling in the natural beauty of Thunderhouse, swimming and fishing. Below the falls, the river drops 300ft in a single day, as the Missinaibi plummets off the Canadian Shield and onto the Hudson Bay Lowlands. The final night together is spent at Bull Moose Bay, camped beneath the towering clay banks of the Lowlands. You will be picked up in the morning by float plane.
