Heads-up for paddlers considering Crockery Creek:
It’s a great place to paddle, but keep a few things in mind. Most of the launch spots are rustic and unofficial—expect to park on the side of the road or in a small pull-off. There are thick hedges of poison ivy throughout the watershed, so be very cautious when launching. This is not a paddle for someone looking for a leisurely float—it’s more suited for experienced paddlers who don’t mind a bit of a challenge.
