Bowlee's Creek

Description

Bowlee's Creek is a leisurely paddle. The best place to launch is at the Bayshore Gardens Recreation Center at the south end of 26th Street. Paddle approximately one mile SSE to the mouth of Bowlee's Creek. CAUTION, at low tide there are many exposed oyster rakes that you have to circumnavigate. Once you get to the mouth of the creek, which is marked by channel markers, head east until you pass under the U.S. 41 bridge. Then continue up the creek for about a mile and a half. You eventually come to a blunt dead-end. Lots of water foul of all sorts. When the water is warmest, you will see manatees, dolphins, and lots of fin fish. I have caught a lot of snook and trout in this creek.
