Entry point into the Atchafalaya Basin. Follow Bayou Portage Rd to its end the launch is at the end of the road. It’s a key starting point for several routes that include the Forgotten Atchafalaya-paddle out to Bayou Grande Guele and back, or extend to Lake Fausse Point State Park that’s a scenic 10 - 15 mile paddle with cypress trees, birdwatching and possible wildlife spotting.
