Outstanding, the Mallard description contains an error in that it says that it is made of Royalite. Royalite was discontinued years ago and the subsequent Mallard was made with T-Formex which is much heavier. Namely, as the description properly says, 59#. This reflects a dramatic increase in weight from only 45# for Mallard Royalite models to 59# for the Mallard T-Formex models. Also, the price has risen to ~$2000 or more at many dealers. The prior Mallard at 45# is highly feasible for one-man carry and portage whereas the newer Mallard at 59# does not lend itself to one-man carry. The Mallard made of Royalite should be viewed as a highly desirable model in the used canoe market for those interested in fishing and portaging their fishing canoe.
