When you paddle at sunrise, remember to check the detailed weather forecast to ensure clear weather. Select a familiar route with minimal boat traffic and hazards, and opt for locations with unobstructed views of the horizon. Wear reflective and bright colors, and layers that are easy to remove. Bring a light and whistle to make yourself visible, and don’t forget to bring a camera to capture the beauty.

Retrospec positions the 11’ 6” long, 32” wide Weekender Tour for the recreational, touring-oriented rider, who will likely prioritize a little added speed and distance over absolute stability. After spending several outings on the board we’d agree, but also argue that the Tour is also one of the better boards for the casual paddler or those that want to add an inflatable SUP to their quiver of toys at the lake house.

When the Malone suction cups are stuck on my rear window, the thing works great. But getting them to stick is a BIG PAIN. I clean the window thoroughly, and then moisten the rubber pads. I push hard on the pads, flip the suction lever and, most of the time, the pad doesn’t stick securely. I can take many minutes trying it over and over again. I’ve brushed the pads with lube oil, which they seem to suck up nicely, and they still don’t work well. I tried lubing the pads before affixing them on the window, which seems to work OK, but then I end up with a greasy window. Are there secrets here?
