Looking for kayak in this range, 13’ is max due to storage limitations. Looking at used boats up to $500. I like the idea of lighter weight for loading but longer lengths for performance. So far have identified Perception Tribe 11.5’, Hobie Quest 12.5/13’, Perception Pescador/Wilderness Tarpon 12’, Ocean Kayak Caper 11’, Necky Vector 13’. Ideal for me would be light-ish and not to wide 11-12’ boat I think. Would like non-barge like speed, I know none will be speedy but hopefully it is not a slog to go a couple miles. Decent tracking preferred over a rockered boat. What else is out there? Any thoughts on any of these? 200 lb paddler, day trips of a couple hours typically.
