| by Aqua Bound | A few years ago, the Whiskey came out of the gates and converted kayakers with its flutter free, high-angle forward stroke and effortless weight (just 26 ounces). Now a trusted companion on the water, the Whiskey is a go-to for a smooth, powerful forward stroke and eye-popping designs. New this year is the Northern Lights pattern which provides high visibility and reflects one of Earth’s most beautiful creations. Hand-built in Osceola, Wisconsin. |

Once you launch there are multiple spots where you will have to walk so bring a rope to make the drag easier. Once Spring Creek runs into Cypress Creek, it gets deeper, and the paddle to Jesse Jones is very nice. |

| by Tom Watson One of the most regarded luxuries of a kayak is its use as a means of "escape", a chance to ply quiet waters; far from the madding crowd; at one with nature — or one's self. It's also a wonderfully spontaneous means of sneaking away for an overnight of remote shoreline or backcountry camping. |
